Athlone Anglers Association

about us

Athlone Anglers Association was founded in 1937 and since then, it has developed into one of the larger freshwater angling clubs in Ireland due to its great commitment and growing membership. The club represents the interest of its members and its passion for angling on Lough Ree and the River Shannon. Our main objectives are to promote angling, catch and release, monitor and protect the quality of the water in the general area and surrounding environment for all outdoor enthusiasts. One of our greatest goals at the moment is to introduce young people to the sport of angling. Committee meetings are arranged regularly to discuss any matters that may arise, along with arranging the many competitions and events which take place throughout the year.
